Energy absorbers are a critical component to any fall protection system. In the event of a fall an energy absorber reduces the energy exerted on the user in order to keep impact forces. The energy absorber is very compact to avoid hindering the user's movements or interfering with handling.
AB-100 is made up of 44mm wide webbing and is shrink wrapped. It limits the impact of fall to less than 6KN
If a user falls onto a 2m long lanyard without an energy absorber, the force on the user and the anchor would be unacceptably high, therefore all fall arrest systems must contain an energy absorbing element, which limits the impact force to 6kN & conforms to EN 355:2002 . The minimum fall clearance distance required when using this energy absorber for a 2mtr lanyard is 6 mtr.
